I could collapse upon my knees
mid begging rants and ranting pleas,
to ask but for a little more time,
a little more when you are mine.
But I know, deep down inside,
Can no more halt or be denied
the cruel fate that lingers about
and it will heed no cry nor shout
I know not how long remains,
I know not the hurt and pains.
I'll bid you well along your way,
And hope I've time enough to say

Countless years of pains untold
yet you endured, so brave and bold.
No thanks nor welcome ever known
